I tried your guide for downgrading my Wii to 3.2E (currently on 3.4E), but I've problems with cios_fix.wad.

After installing HBC I installed ios16 with the normal Wad Manager. After this I try to install cios_fix with the custom Wad Manager (for IOS16) but it gives me the ret = -1022 error on content #5. If I try to install the cios_fix with the normal Wad Manager it gives me the same error. Before I begun installing I ensured that there was no IOS249 installed (looked with AnyTitle Deleter).

The following IOSes where installed before I tried to install cios_fix:

After cios_fix failed there was a IOS249 (thanks to cios_fix)

Anybody any idea?
use Anytitledeleter and remove IOS249 and run the Cios_fix again , be sure internet is on and Wii rebooted first

I'm sorry but I wasn't that clear. The real problem is that I can't install cios_fix. Cios_fix just won't install, with or without IOS249. I started from the beginning, installing IOS16. After this there is no IOS249. Then I try to install cios_fix and it gives me -1022. Now there is an IOS249. If I remove this IOS it keeps on failing

.

For the people that just want the Backup Launcher --> you can just delete the HBC via the Wii settings (remove channels) right? Or will the backup loader not work then?

You should also delete HBC's ticket, "HAXX" using AnyTitleDeleter.
And it would work, in fact, you don't even need to install it. Just boot using TH, run wad manager and install what you want.

What do I have to do to uninstall HBC and keep the Backup Launcher? If playing backups is the only thing I wanna do.
The only way to uninstall HBC is to reformat your Wii.

That means I will lose backup launcher as well.
Anyway, what else are the consequences of reformatting? And how do I do that?
Regards,
DC
Yes you'll lose the launcher as well, it's like uninstalling TPH. I believe you'll also lose all saved game data, Wiiware and virtual console games. I'm not sure you'll have to look it up but I think if you bought them you can save the data to your SD card and be okay but if you d**loaded them that won't work and you'll lose them. If you want to reformat you go in to Wii settings, if I remember right it's the last setting. Just curious... why is it so important to get rid of it? It really doesn't hurt anything just sitting there.

To all wondering why I would uninstall: I didnt use Big Moe's installer and tut's. I used stuff from another site (console related) where there was a "Softmod for dummies" package. Thats why. And I dont want to use an SD card. Besides for installing.
I saw the HBC on my friends Wii after he started Backup Launcher. Before that it wasnt visible on his dashboard.
I have 3.3E and didnt downgrade cause that hasnt been explained to me before.

But now I know how to downgrade according the tutorial of BM, I would also like to have a look at Big Moe's way of installing.

You could load "any title deleter" to a DVD. Boot the DVD from backup channel. Delete the HBC Title via the app (careful, choosing the wrong title could result in an insta-brick). Reboot the wii and now your left with no HBC and Backup Loader in tact

If you try to run "Any Title Deleter" from the HBC, I imagine it would fail deleting the HBC title since it's currently loaded into MEM. Well, that is if HBC doesn't flush it's self after loading someting from it's self.

Confusing huh LOL.

But the DVD idea would work for sure.

EDIT: Whoops sorry Jytach. Didn't see you had just commented on this LOL.

You must play zelda, then delete the save file, then copy (make sure you select the correct version for your system menu).

I did play Zelda,i deleted the save, and tried to copy...(the "correct"version you mean is not concerning Zelda game?i´ve modded a 3.3E with the same game,so i´ve used the same data.bin)

The problem I had that cios_fix.wad wouldn't install was a very anoying problem but it is fixed
smileipb2.png

The problem was that the cios_fix I used was corrupted. One bit was a zero while it should be a one or the other way around but its working atm.

Problem solved,i didn´t rename data.bin,i was trying with the other data.bin in the folder, well i´m just a WII noob but i will get there....thanks

Okay, I installed HBC, but when i try to install Starfall, it won't let me. I'm in 3.2U, and I pressed B+2, nothing happened. Then pressed B+1, nothing again.
you may have to press B+1 several time for it to catch. took me 5 or 6 tries before it took.

I was just about to mention the renaming - most people miss that and its not explained clearly sometimes

Could anyone please PM me with GOOD places where I could find find backups of games I already own

Is there anyway to make Wii game backups without having to buy a special LG drive or having to go through the Wii and fill up the SD card 3-4 times?

Best way is to dump through your network (requires a wireless connection, or wired (via lan - usb adapter).

Err, What's difference between V3 and V2 Installer. v3 didn't seem to work, but v2 is up and running so far and all I need is the SD Card...

Anyway, how do you check your firmware on your Wii T-T'
