How to get this mod running?

Really want to try this mod, Super Mario Land was my first video game ever and this looks great. The instructions for getting it running are a little, vague... or they need some understanding of modding of this nature, which I don't have.

Anybody savvy enough to know what this guy means by his instructions?

Download Lunar IPS. Patch the IPS to the ROM of the game. Instructions will be in the program.

With some emulators its even easier, you can just throw the IPS file into a folder (depends on the emulator which folder, but often the same folder as the save games) and make sure it has the same name as your ROM and it will patch automatically when you start the game. Check the instructions of whatever emulator you're using to see if it supports this and for where to put the IPS. (I don't know GB emus too well, so it's possible they might not do this, if not, sorry)
