Homebrew How to clean reinstall + update?

Hi there GBATemp,

I have a CFW Switch that is currently running Atmosphere 1.3.2|E and firmware 13.1.0. Unfortunately, I've installed a lot of bullshit on it and I want to clean it up and update to the latest version of Atmosphere and firmware. Can someone please recommend the safest and easiest way to do this? I'm a bit worried about potentially breaking my Switch, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

are you using EmuMMC or you got you SysNAND dirty?
the best way is to create a new EmuMMC from you clean SysNAND or from a "clean" backup, you should had a backup from the first time you hack your console as is stated on every one guide. with that backup you can start from scratch.

do like @impeeza said and you will be good. You can even go on your clean SysNand and grab updates and new free stuff before doing the new nand clone (remember to update Atmosphere + hekate before, and do your savegames backup if those matter to you).

Then so you can start the proces over, using your actual SysNAND to create a new EmuNAND
