Flash me is the fake brick, as the first bytes in the flashme code contains the recovery data. Not all the 100% of flashme need the SL1, only the few first %.
If the flashme process fail before 100%, you can always do a flashme recovery with A+B+Start+Select and reloading the flashme data in the not-protected area.
If you switch off you DS at the few first %, it will create a full brick. (I don't remember how many, I think it's something like 10~12%. It needs to be verified)
full flashme bricked DSL can be unbricked with another DSL and hardware switching.

If you want a real brick, on a DSL just bridge the SL2, or touch SL1+another component just at its left.
