ROM Hack How realistic is a full translation patch for Dragon Quest XI using the PS4 script?

I just think it's such a shame that this version exists and hasn't been officially translated in any way or form. Feels like a part of gaming history that just goes down the drain like that. I mean, having the same game on both PS4 and 3DS feels like such an out there idea. Would have loved to see this released in the west; it's a shame market decision have come into play.

The awesomeness lies in fact, that 3DS version has almost the same filling as PS4 version. Entire story, all the items, all the monsters. And 3DS version even has the additions compared to the PS4 version!

The idea of a portable console having the same game as the TV-console, yet the only difference are graphics and locations layout, and even then, all the content is still in place... i don't know since when we had stuff like that...

Such an awesome unique thing got unseen in the world... it's sad.

I hope the dream or proyect of translating the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI doesn't die, the 3DS is so cool and has so much charm, I know that it would be shutdown if SE knows, but the idea of the 3DS to be able to play every DQ main series (one way or another) form I to XI makes it worth to try, at least I hope there is a patch for the menus, to at least know what I would be doing lol

valid excuse but I would prefer doing everything from scratch not doing something that's considered the noobs way of doing translation.

The PS4 translation is the canonical english script. I would just take the easy route, because it is a good translation and it would be easier to copy and paste than spend hours on what I see as pointless time-wasting. I'm gonna make my own copied translation. If the translation is not done yet, I wish you luck, but I'm gonna see who can finish first.

I wouldn't say something this extreme when the only hurdle is you can't read it... It's there and has plenty of physical copies, just for the Japanese market. Nothing is lost beyond opportunity cost と思う…多分
