Does anybody know how quickly Pokemon breed at the Daycare?

The other day, I was fooling around with Pearl and decided to leave my male and female Pikachus at the Daycare. A while later, I noticed on the Daycare Checker application that they had had an egg which I went and retrieved. In the time it took to hatch the egg (riding my bike back and forth in front of the Daycare), they had another egg. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Is this normal? FWIW, both Pikachu were from events (courtesy pokesav.org).

Thanks...

It's less than the number of steps required to hatch their previous egg.

And they must *really* like each other... :-)

I know in Fire Red it took 650 steps to breed pokemon with a Ditto...they didn't like each other very much or whatever...

I'm not sure if that carried over to D/P/P, so I'd just estimate around 500 steps or so.

Thats normal
Btw. the stronger you party pkmn are the less steps it takes to hatch an egg
I'm pretty sure the only modifier for egg hatching speed is if you have a Pokemon with the ability Flame Body or Magma Armor, like the Magby and Slugma evo families and Camerupt, in your party. It halves the steps needed to hatch eggs.
