20mb down 512Kbs up unlimited but traffic shaping during peak hours which is ok as i put uttorent on at night when i go to bed. Normaly get 1Mb/s down on uttorrent and have already fillied up my hard drives with games and videos need to get a new 1TB one soon i think.

If you have it you will use it (it was not so long ago that my 80 gig drive was huge).

For the record though BT option 3 (at least for the next few days) @ 700 kilobytes/second or just over (I live a fair distance from the exchange with a nice copper wire to it). Hammered near 24/7 (I run out of hard drive space before I run of stuff to download) thanks to usenet.

Download limit: news to me if there is one.
Shaping: supposedly not but I find it very hard to believe everyone stops the internet at exactly midnight, every night of the week and line contention suddenly drops.

Well. my ISP gives me a mere 4GB Down, and 4GB Up a month. Its really disappointing. I don't dare downloading torrents, since for every 1GB over its a hefty 10$ *fine*. I have however monitered how much i need a month, i need at least 4.5 GB, yet in that 4.5 GB i downloaded a couple things and browsed youtube like hell. So yeah i guess you should be grateful with your 50GB

Wow, and I thought I had a bad limit?
We had your downloadlimit like 10 years ago.

AFAIK, it's unlimited for me. My monthly stats highs are about 140-160 Gigs a month. So, if there is a sweet spot, I haven't hit it yet!

It averages to about 100 GB/Month now that I look at it.

Souce: Netlimiter

24 meg connection, no traffic shaping or messing with my torrents whatsoever, no download limit, no upload limit. On a heavy day of downloading Ive gotten over 30 gig in 24 hours.

edit: I meant 70 gig in 24 hours

you lucky people i think i have a pretty good modem but when i download the speed is never consistent the highest I've got is 1.5 MB but it changes so much it gotten to 20 kb while downloading the same thing

same as cupajoe

is this good

Meh. no limit, 12 MB. Time Warner.

EDIT: My download speeds are like Ichigo's. Keep on moving up and down. Except for my virtual hard drive site. Those speeds are always around 500kb-1MB.

I'm on BT Business Broadband. There's a 30gb fair usage policy thing, if I go over it then for a month I get 50-100k/s during peak hours. Doesn't really bother me too much as I tend to start stuff going in the morning and watch it during my capped hours.

You people are all so lucky... I may have unlimited (at least I think so, haven't gotten a warning yet), but DL speed is crap, max 80 kb/s...

Of course this is over a wireless-G connection, but its still faster than my dad's wired connection. His is topped out at like 50 kb/s or something like that.

Earthlink - 8mbps down, free unlimited usenet (it's not crappy either! full speed and good retention), free dial-up, no caps... I almost don't want to switch to FiOS because even if this isn't TOP OF THE LINE FAST it's really nice especially if something goes wrong I have dial-up to fall back on.

I'd just like to know what your download limit is? how much you download and what? is it enough? i thought this might be an interesting topic

i live in Australia and my download limit is 50gb a month 25 peak 25 offpeak im with TPG - ADSL 2+ $50 a month it goes around 200 - 700 KBs a sec, i just changed from Telstra Bigpond 12gb $70 a month (total rip because my dad chose it and hes a total noob). I'm forever downloading DS, Wii, PS2 Games and movies and i went over my $50 gb limit in half a month

I've got the same internet plan as you (TPG) but my peak download speeds are around 165KB/s so I don't really go over the limit.

BTW do you use the off peak downloads?

My friend had 400 meg limit for the month and it was like 15 cents per meg over. They had to pay hundreds a month until they changed.

My connection is a 1500/256 I thin (1500 KB/s down, 256 KB/s up) but i struggle to get 200 KB/s out of it. My modem is a P.O.S. so I can't port forward or anything.

I have a shaped 40GB limit (up and down) which does the job although i would prefer a 60GB+ for all the stuff i get off iTunes *cough*torrents*cough*.
