Hacking Question How many people Mod their Switch?

Do you guys have a...

  • Modded Switch

  • Normal Switch

The poll is going to be extremely biased given the kind of forum this is. Pirates are a small minority, probably <1% of the user base, and not all of those people have a hacked Switch.
Personally I hacked mine once emuNAND had been around for a while and it seemed safe to use emuNAND without risking a ban on sysNAND.

I have one unmodded Switch for legit stuff/Nintendo Online access, and a modded Switch for hacks and other things. I hacked that one around the introduction of emuMMC, but decided not to go that route.

I have a modded switch and a switch lite. (I technically have 4 switches but one of the switch lites is brand new in the box and the other unpatched switch is inside storage. I carry my switch lite more than my modded switch because it is portable and easy to handle instead of taking the large switch with me.
Nice do you have the tutorial or video on jailbreak a lite switch and which model can use?

Dead thread and there are literally dozens of tuts out there for how to install the Switch Lite modchip.
I think you need a modchip for the lite and oled and later normal switches.
…any Switch produced after June 2018 requires a modchip from AliExpress.
(an easier way to blanket state what you said!) :-)

not sure how, but I got a hackable switch in November as refurbished by Nintendo. kinda weird, cuz I assumed they wouldn't have done that. doesn't matter now as I sold it for $275 with just tablet and joycons. I didn't mean to sell the joycons with it, but that was over a year ago when I had four switches.

That is kinda crazy. You would think they would have been eager to burn that one as soon as they saw it. Probably were figuring that there was a 99% chance it was going to a good home rather than sailing the seven seas so it was worth the risk for the revenue..

yeah, the person seemed excited that it was hackable. this was on ebay. I think I may have bought a lot of games before I knew it was hackable. plus, I'm trying to steer clear of game piracy, if that's still a thing. I do pirate tv mostly though, no games, music, movies (sometimes, but I never watch them). no real reason to feel this way beyond the fact that I wouldn't play the games if they were pirated, since there's no obligation to.

Generally my ideas when it comes to piracy are simple. Give me a reasonable way to buy the product from you. If you do I see no reason to pirate it. However if I have to jump through multiple hoops to actually obtain what I want. I'm sorry but I'm not going to hesitate.

Don’t tell anybody, but I don’t really even like playing that many video games…I just like hacking. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
same for me, and probably most developers. I'm just interested in seeing what I can do with the system once hacked. the games-I couldn't care less about.

I will mess with the firmware of pretty much any device I can get my hands on, mainly just for the fun of seeing whats possible without the manufacturer's restraints
