How many dead pixels can you have before you say it's too many? More importantly, how many do Nintendo need?

I currently have four or five dead pixels, with a few of those becoming larger when the 3D effect is switched on.

Generally you don't "get" dead pixels, they're just there from the beginning.
Doesn't Nintendo check their stock before they box them? If not, my opinion of the company will drop considerably.

From what I remember from the DS/lite, Any dead pixels are too many. They will probably replace it for you. Unlike other companies, Nintendo don't consider dead pixels to be an 'acceptable' problem.

If the dead pixels bother you, don't hesitate to jam it back to the store for a replacement. You paid a lot of money for that 3DS and you deserve to have one that is in perfect working order. I wouldn't tolerate any dead pixels.

While the store itself won't exchange it (not a clue why), I'll give Nintendo themselves a shot, their national headquarters are just down the road from my place, so I'll give them a ring in the morning.

It's the result of something that has happened after the 3DS' are shipped out, it's more the store's fault than Nintendo's.

I'm sure Nintendo will sort it for you, otherwise they will get a very bad reputation for not helping you for something that they boxed up without checking to see if it was worthy to buy!

Really can you show us the building using google maps or a picture?

I take it you live in Melbourne then. That place is filled with really cool people. I meet them every time i go to a Nintendo Connection Tour in Sydney.

I have a tiny little hair stuck behind my screen. Lord only knows how it got in there, but it bugs me. Dead pixels would be a definite take back and complain problem!

JB-HiFi replaced my XL when there was a dead pixel.

This is my third 3DS from them, however, with each prior to it having been returned for the same issue. They explicitly stated that I could not make any further returns.

Tell them you'll stop making returns when they stop sending you shoddy merchandise.
