I'm patiently waiting so that I can transfer my emunand stuck 7.x back to a sysnand 7.x.

I feel as though Gateway will release a fix for the current emunand issue fairly soon. Months at the latest. Just a hunch.

They seem focused on getting Gateway to work on newer fws, but I think a fix for this will probably come soon

That will be nice since I have a 6.x console. Though it might need a new cart to make future GW work since the headers are blocked.

Nintendo doesn't block the Red card, like how they did old DS carts. they can't because of how it works. If you're talking about the blue card, I think it does works on 6.x, and even if it didn't Gateway would release a patch to make it work. When 6.x support comes out it will just be a matter of how the exploit is launched.
