atmosphere is more aimed towards devs at the moment (i.e for end users you need th patches and everything)

It's not aimed at devs, it's aimed at legal users. You only have to download a zip file from gbatemp and extract it onto your microsd to enable piracy.

It's always the first one to be updated, so I'm not sure why anyone runs anything else.

how is that painfully small? 64gb is more than enough for me personally.
Almost all of my games are physical copies and I've used over 128gb. thanks 3rd party devs for having 8+gb patches

I have all 3 cfws and maybe half a dozen games I actually play despite having pretty much the entire library and a 64gb card does fine

Kosmos isn't a cfw it's a bundle/repack of a cfw. atmosphere is more aimed towards devs at the moment (i.e for end users you need th patches and everything) the next user friends cfw is reinx just copy the files and it just works. sx is good if you have xcis that's about it
Who ever said the patches are required, I don't use them :P

Not really hard, just probably one youtube video to teach you about the basics and you're pretty much good to go on your own. Just be sure to back up everything first before going cfw.

I am not pc literate at all and managed to hack my switch using a lot of YouTube videos and patience. A lot of the guides to install things I find aren't very easy to follow if you haven't hacked something before. I'm now waiting on a jumpgate...
