Hacking How does wifi work with the 3DS?

So I have a Gateway now, I deleted my router's wireless details after updating the emunand. Does local area stuff still work with the gateway as long as the wifi is on? Like streetpasses and local multiplayer?

To answer your question, since the poster above didn't address your main concern, yes, even if you aren't connected to the internet, local multiplayer and streetpass work. May I ask why you deleted the wireless details, though? Online works with Gateway, and the only possible problem with being online with Gateway is updating. For real NAND, all you have to do is delete your wifi settings. For emuNAND, you can update just fine, although I'd check here or elsewhere beforehand, just in case.
