Hi all,
I am confused about how TX got usb mounting to word using adapters
I mean dock is fine but how do they do it with adapters
Doesn't nintendo switch check if a certain voltage is given or smething? Dongles work without and additional power
If there is a free homebrew that achieves this (Like a file explorer able to mount usb or/and install nsps) could you please link,
Thank you GBAtemp!

Mine has unused code inside of it because I activated my SX OS license from standalone code. Can I extracted from the dongle and activate someone else license without plunging it?

USB isn't mounted, and voltage on the USB dongle/Modchip is not connected (V+ only used for recharging capacitors etc - once the Switch O/S has been run), only the D+ D- and GND lines are used. When the Switch goes into RCM mode - it starts waiting for data to be sent, data from the device injecting the payload is sent via the D+/D- points - to a mico processor on the switch. The data sent then gets executed and contains instructions on what to boot - ie boot.dat, linux or whatever program/payload you want to put on your micro sd card.

Using faulty, non standard USB-C stuff on your Switch can fry components (microcontrollers) on the switch and prevent it from charging - just remember this when using USB cables, non Nintendo docks etc. You could be supplying voltage (or the wrong voltage), to data lines that the switch was never designed for)

No. Once the switch is running normally, the USB-C port on the switch will provide power to controllers and usb sticks.

The USB-C port can also be used to charge the switch, the whole point of USB-C is that it can be used in either direction.

I have no idea what you're trying to ask.
About that last paragraph, SX OS supported installing from USB for ages now. Just plug in any HDD or USB Stick with NSP/XCI on it and go into your SX Launcher, the files will appear there. Alternatively use SX Installer, there's an USBHDD:// filepath option, where the files will also show.
This has been out for at least half a year.

Guys i think you misunderstand. I was asking for an explanation as to HOW sx os mount usbs as, from what i understand, you shouldn't be able to mount them without the specific chip that the dock uses but yet i am able to mount xcis eith a cheap dongle? Has anybody been able to figure it out yet and open sourced it, i am sure the switchroot scene would appreciate it very much. :)

It's USB-OTG. Nothing special.
