Hardware How do you use another region's game updates?

I'm currently playing extreme butoden on sky3ds(Japanese version) and I'm wondering if I can download the game update from the internet and put it on my sd card and if so, where do I put it?

You would need to install the cia.

I can't use cias since I'm using sky3ds and am on 10.1.
