Gaming How do you listen to your games?

Using speakers of course... did you expect like some telepathic bond or something?

Seriously though most the time no phones, just the unit as the speakers are good enough. BUT...when I want to jam out I have this jack->RCA plug (2 of them) and one is in my tall PC speakers, and then another is popped into my 5.1 system. A few games truly get epic sounding with that, many (well all) isn't a requirement for it but could be a bit more enjoyable as DS pops out some amazing quality audio.

On my DS i mostly use headphones , because the sound-quality is better and I don't want everyone listening to my game. On my PC I use surround-sound though.

DS: either off entirely or on speakers.

PC: I skimped on speakers (despite making sure I have reasonable sound) so headphones it is, got a fairly nice set of over the head ones (earbuds are monstrous things in my opinion).

Console, depends what time of day and whether I have neighbours around or friends over.

Like most, it depends on the game I'm playing, where I'm playing it, and the mood I'm in.

During class or at night or whatever, I'll sometimes use my hardcore Shure E3 in-ear monitors or my crappy white throw-around iPod ear buds, whichever are easier to find at the time. Yes I'm lazy.

Every other time, I'll just use the inbuilt speakers. They're actually pretty decent for their size.

On my DS, I'll use my Shure E2c's, the factory speakers, or this mid range set of noise cancelling Audiovox ones I've got.
I bought the Audiovox ones cause my shures are away getting warranty right now. I put them in my ear right after getting out of the shower and they got wet, but I have to admit they are fucking awesome headphones.
An actual small part of my hopes they deny my warranty so I can justify getting the E3c's HAHA.

Has anyone out there tried both the E3's and E2's and can compare the difference for me?

One thing, that I am suprised is not out there considering how many DS's are available to sell too, is a set of high end replacement speakers for the DS. I would probably pick up a set. Lord knows I use my DS enough, and without the Shures everything just sounds like crap now.
The only thing that sucks is that the people the speakers would have to be marketed too would never want to open their DS. Does anyone know of any other devices which have good small speakers in them?
