Homebrew how do you create your own channels (wads)?

Are there any tutorials or guides on how to do this. Specifically, I want to make the mplayer dvd version into a channel that I can directly access from the Wii System Menu, as opposed to having to go through the homebrew channel. Or is there already a wad for this? I looked around and only found a wad for the newest version of mplayer, but I prefer the dvd version as it has a better gui.

I have already tested mplayer dvd version, and it does not work

SO my question would be: Is there a program which could add the files into the wad to help it run?
