i have the first .iso of Red Steel by paradox... it needs to be unscrambled (start menu->run->cmd-> go to directory->unscrambler.exe red_steel.iso red_steel_unscrambled.iso) and burn it with nero.

i have wario sm and wiiplay, but pal releases. i actually have a ntsc wii (latinoamerica...:-( )

I thought that release wasn't dumped using the same method so it was never scrambled to begin with...

Does noone know if the Qwiif releases are scrambled or not? An NFO from one of them just says to unrar and burn, no mention of GOD/WOD...

Does anyone know what type of DVD the WII likes, +R or -R ?

from: http://www.wiinja.com/

TDK DVD-R --> 16x -- PERFECT
XTRA DVD-R -> 8x -- PERFECT
IMATION DVD-R --> 16x -- PERFECT
VERBATIM DVD-R --> 16x -- PERFECT
VERBATIM DVD+R --> 4x -- PERFECT (Burn it like
EMTEC DVD-R -->> 4x -- Produces DRE on WII and Gamecube Modes
PLEOMAX DVD-R --> 16x -- PERFECT

About the type of DVDs, I had a TON of trouble getting discs to run on my GC with the Viper Extreme chip. Turns out if you buy a disc with G04 ink used in the manufacturing, it's perfect. I even went out and bought the case mod which allowed full size discs.

I have some Sony DVD+R 8x (v1.2).... think those'll be fine?

If you burn an ISO to a disk that gives you a DRE, can you copy the disk to another one at maybe a slower burning speed to get it to work?

I must say that it wasn't true for me or one of my friends with our GCs.
Many people seem to like to use Ritek G04 based media for cube backups. I had no luck with it. I had great success with Verbatim branded MCC 003 based media. That was in my QOOB Pro chipped console and one I did for a friend with a XENO-GC chip. Both had many pot tweaks.
I also used a DUO-Q (xeno clone) in another friends cube and it seems to read anything you put in it, and that's with a pot reading of nearly 250. All of these GCs are first release PAL cubes.

So Ritek G04 may work great but it does depend largely on your cube and the burn method (drive, firmware, burn speed..) you use.

I have a ton of TDK 16X -R here and hope they are liked by the Wii.
Come on Wiinja... hurry up and get here!

If it's 4 699 979 776 bytes, it's unscrambled.
If it's 4 700 012 544 bytes, it's unscrambled with unscrambler 0.4 which adds an extra 32 768 bytes to the file (JESUS release)
If it's 4 736 698 368 bytes, it's in raw format and must be unscrambled.

Hello,
I have two questions :
1)I have downloaded RedSteel and I want to say if I have to unscramble it because the file is already an iso (w-rs.iso)
2)Who test the Wiininja's modchip in the forum ? It's work or not ?

Thanks you for you answer !!

I had absolutely no probs with ritek G04 (8cm (mini) dvd-r) or G05 (12cm (full size) dvd-r).

This is on 2 gcn's that never had either drives POT touched.

Most other brands/dyes would give me random DRE's (some games worked fine, wheras others would dre at the same spot every time).

Just take your Wii game, a big flame, and then burn it...

Hello,

I have just a question :
I have downloaded a WII game (it's 4 700 012 544 bytes). It's was unscramble with unscrambler 0.4 and I want to know if I have to unscramble this game in order to burn it because it's a .wii file.

Thanks

yes

No. Because like he said, it's already unscrambled. Also if you check the file size, you can clearly see that it's already unscrambled.

wait, so you don't have to unscramble games that are unscrambled?
