I need to know this too. I want to keep all of my pirated apps and save games. I have 2nd Gen 8GB MC-model (currently on 3.1.3).

You guys can just update to stock iOS 4.2.1 just make sure you just update, but if you wanna restore, you should make a backup then restore to your last backup. All your saves should still be there. But to get all your pirated apps back you have to re-download them. Same goes for cydia stuff...

Demon, Not sure if you can jailbreak iPod touch 2G MC with the most recent redsn0w. If I recall correctly they removed steak4uce (pod2gs tethered exploit for iPod touch 2G MC)

I'm using 2nd gen 8gb model with the internal speakers.

EDIT: Can I jailbreak the current 4th gen Ipod because I'm thinking about buying one.

Yes, yes you can. But as of now it will be tethered.

Which means when you turn it off, you cannot boot it up without the help of a pc.

Also, You know there is a jailbreak guide, right?

@Demon and ifish: Unfortunately, the current version of redsn0w will not work with iPod touch 2G (new bootrom) devices.
