Simple question. I just want to make sure before I try things. Also how can I make a FW.IMG that is sig patched.

Follow the instructions for compiling Dimok's iosuhax, found in the github repo along with the source.
But that's a rather outdated and inefficient (although working) CFW.

Just use the miniCFW built into Haxchi if you don't need the fanciest features (wupserver)

Just buy a compatible DS game from the eshop and run the Haxchi installer on it.

How do I use miniCFW?
By default, it's mapped to the B button (which you must hold on the gamepad while launching Haxchi)
but if you edit the /haxchi/config.txt on your SD and (re)install haxchi, you can change the button mappings to maybe make minicfw default, map more homebrews to buttons directly open them, etc
