How do I level up my GBAtemp account?

I'm just wondering, I see a lot of people with really high levels and I'm like level 1.3 lol

It's usually just a time+contribution thing. Just enjoy yourself, commenting helpful and witty things, and you slowly level up. I don't have a very high level considering how long I've been here, but my tendency is to lurk more than comment. If you develop helpful tools, or create something cool/useful to those here in the forum, that can be a solid contribution.

You can cheese the system and try to "game" more likes, but that's....well, what do you get out of it? Rather than aim for likes and higher levels, aim for those things you enjoy doing which naturally lead to XP. Just doing it for the XP means you're probably not enjoying the forum content, which is a shame. there's a lot of fun here.

Contributing to different forums by saying something useful or charming will help you gradually level up. People who have been on here longer than you will have a high level and that's pretty normal. Just be yourself and you'll fit right in.

they used to have badges iirc instead of levels, so levels are somewhat new (albeit several years old). the badges were determined by post count, I believe. levels, xp, which you can get for several different things. you can get them with trophies (new with gbatemp), likes, etc. most of my experience is probably from likes, since I post a lot of stuff.

There is a method where you cannibalise another high level account (see also vampires and power levels there for a similar system), however most are keenly aware of such things and will be suspicious of others turning up with high levels that were not known to them before then.

Wait how would one "cannibalise" another account? Don't see how absorbing Chary's account would be possible...

easiest way may be the write reviews. heard that you get 200xp/review for that or do what the above users have said, help people out.

Thats because I've got garlic and silver crosses everywhere
