Ok, so I wanna try and translate one of my favorite games of my childhood, Dragon Tamer: Sound spirit on the nds. But I have no clue on what to do and how to start since I had never done much coding before, and the only coding I kinda know is from 8th grade but I'm still in 8th grade, but anyway, can I have suggestions on what programs I should use, any videos that could help and such. Also, the game is Japanese and I don't know much of Japanese except for a few words.

Japanese you will either have to learn or find a translator for (machine translation is nowhere near good enough, and may never be).

Have you seen what you can find using those? It might be that it is an annoying game that needs some careful attention, or it might be fairly pedestrian and be nice to the would be hacker. This sort of thing you can start to figure out with fairly minimal coding skills (or indeed basically none) as coding tends to come in more when you are trying to build tools to help you out.
