Ok, I've spent the last hour and a half trying to figure this out (and failing), I'm trying to build Brahma 2 and Uncart to use with HBL (because with a9lh I can't select installed titles).

I've installed the 1.6 devkit, but have no clue how to use it. Can someone help me/maybe write a good guide to this? The one on the devkit wiki is confusing af.

(I AM SORRY FOR BEING AN IDIOT BUT I CAN'T HELP IT I'VE NEVER TOUCHED THIS STUFF BEFORE)

How to provide enough context to get the help you need:
What operating system are you using?
What are you confused about?
What have you tried already?
Are you receiving errors?
Have you installed all the prequisites?

Assuming you're on a Linux/Mac environment, and you've installed dekitARM correctly and setup the necessary environment variables, most projects are setup so that you can open your terminal app, cd into the project directory then run "make" to build it.

Windows 10
How do I even "open" devkitARM and how do I use it to build Brahma 2 and Uncart with the master's
I haven't tried anything because nothing even looks like I can run it (Well actually I tried using terminal once but it just said something along the lines of 'this isn't a command')
I can't even opening it
I used the 1.6 installer... Is there anything else? (THEIR TUTORIAL WAS TERRIBLE AAAAAAAA)

devkitARM is a toolchain (compiler, assembler, misc build tools) meant to be run from a terminal. On Windows, the devkitPro installer should've also installed Minimal System (MSYS/MinGW) into the devkitPro directory. You'll want to run msys.bat which launches a terminal emulator. From there you can issue the change directory command ("cd") to change to the folder containing the project you want to build (ex "cd projects/Uncart"). Then type "make" to build.

Not trying to be mean... more of a warning. Building and modifying custom firmware is rather advanced. If you are asking these types of questions then you may want to stick with prebuilt versions and/or installers. You can brick your 3ds if you mess with the wrong stuff.

Hey, I don't take offense to things if I'm taking advice XD
If it's too advanced, I'd rather have someone say so and save me from a brick rather than them trying to walk me through something.

(Also, I couldn't find either of those pre-built ANYWHERE which is why I was trying to do this)

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.

What matters now is that he's doing alright.
