I did put the code on the chip, which is called programming, but I didn't write the code, no.

The only person I know that wrote a really good open source chip-code is Bell. ^^

It's called programming when you falsh data on those chips, because of the way it's done. Hey I didn't name it. Go and complain to 1980, when it was first done.

I actually built the programmer, programmed the modchip and soldered it in, all myself. Wasn't that hard. ^^

same, it's surprisingly easy to mod a d2a/dms/d2b (even if it does have cut legs) all i did was buy a soldering iron from dick smith, practice on a broken vidya card for a couple hours, mod my ps1 (for confidence) then mod my wii straight afterwards. no dramas

First of all how is Nintendo suppose to know? Second of all Nintendo doesn't care. They've fixed a lot of Wiis that obviously broke because the user tinkered with them. They just have great customer service. (atleast NOE does, NOA is another story)
Btw. my wii is a launch-wii so it's out of warenty in under two months anyway.

ok, they do have ways to know, yes they have a great service but not if you have open the wii, i know that for a fact, i'm not a programmer but i am a electronic technician and i can tell you that they know just by the screws.
but if your wii is coming out of warranty, i see your point.
but still, i think ide try softmood first
