5 of my mates had an R4, and explained i could play DS games on it. I was like oh man thats awesome, like a modchip!

So read up a bit, found out that the homebrew scene was quite active, found GBATemp from looking for a emulator for it.

The next month, went to my local shop and got a DS, and ordered an R4. *shudders*

so now, around 15 people i know in my town have R4's, 8 people have CycloDS's (including me). Get together and play multiplayer games etc.

Lot of flashcarts in this small country town

The only person I know other than me that has a flashcart is my best friend, and that's only because I bought it for him!

the only person i Know with a flash cart, was my friend who I showed him it and he was impressed, but was not interested in it too much because he didnt have a ds. Then a week later by luck someone had left there DS in the restaurant he worked in, so like the kid never came back looking for it, so he kept it and got the itouchds with sakura that i helped him set up.

FINDERS KEEPERS!

=']

I never find anything of value...

The internet, and now my love of flashcarts is populating my school I've almost gotten twenty people to buy a top toy and 3 even bought a ds JUST BECAUSE I SHOWED THEM THE HAXORS!

I found out from a friend who knew almost nothing and only thought that it was for games. He only has 37 games and he only thinks that his M3 simply could play those games. From then on, i kept researching more and more until i know way more things about this stuff. I found gbatemp on google. My friend is the only other person i know with a flashcart

EDIT: Now I know 2 more people with flashcarts

I was thinking about getting one for my Girl Friends little brother and he would think i was amazing, But i thought that would spoil him way too much... I dont know. Maybe I still will.

I found out when i wanted to play Mother 3 on my DS. I found the M3 Real and it sounded (and with M3 iSakuReal is) perfect for playing it. and with an added bonus! the ability to play NDS roms! lol. who woulda guessed.

It all started when I was emulation gba games (felt in love with advance wars) and i just got a gba sp for free. I wanted to do more on my gba so I somehow stumble upon lik-sang and got the gbamp. I mainly used it for music, movies, and nes games until I got my ds phat where I later invested in supercard. Due to me wanting moonshell and ds games. If it wasn't for me wanting to play music and movies on my ds I would have never went further invested in flashcarts. And I have been a supercard user ever since, now I have the supercard sdhc+8gig soon to be upgraded to 16gb since I maxed out my 8.

This is like way back in 2004. Just reminiscing how just 4 years ago I was dealing with a cf gbamp, technology in our world moves fast... O and never would I thought being growing playing mario on nes at home to playing it on my portable device.

I can't stand watching videos on my DS. First of all the screen is too small. Second, even with the highest encoding options the video is jumpy and has bad quality. You need an iPod Touch! Videos are amazing on that! I understand listening to music though, because even I do that. Sounds as good as it would on any MP3 player.

I used to play GBA roms on my emulator to check them out, and I bought the games for my GBA after that. I couldn't even run every rom at 100% on my crappy computer, so I didn't really have a choice. I found out about flashcarts via http://www.gbxemu.com/, which was a romsite back then. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough money for them, and I didn't want to buy via the internet.

When I had my DS for about two years, I heard flashcarts were actually pretty easy to find locally, for a price of 90 euros for a PassCard and an M3 Perfect. I bought them, primarely to backup my games, play old GBA roms and use emulators. Later, the first Slot-1 carts were released. Everyone seemed to use the R4, but the M3 Perfect was good enough for me. Then, the Nintendo DS Browser rom was hacked for the M3 Perfect. I decided to go back to the shop I got my M3 from, and I bought an M3 Simply to use DS roms on. I used it for a few months, until the M3 Real was released. At first, it wasn't good enough for me (like the CycloDS Evolution), but I noticed it could play clean GBA roms with my M3 Perfect, and I could get it for about 25 euros only! I decided to buy it at DealExtreme, and I was one of the first people on GBAtemp to get it. In the meantime, I sold my M3 Simply for 35 euros.

That's pretty much it... I got quite some review samples, but they couldn't beat the M3 Real. The best cart I got as a review sample is the AceKard 2. I still use it a lot, but not as much as the M3 Real.

A LONG time ago, I started out with the M3 SD Gba Movie Player. I enjoyed it, but for a little while I just forgot about my DS (World of Warcraft). Then I stopped playing Wow and the old thing was dead. I got the newer M3 Real because... well... I trusted the name instead of looking around. Turns out I got lucky. I found GBA Temp while googling some information on the M3 Real.

And now I left my DS in America when I went to Italy. I'm on the other side of the world from my DS and flashcart. Go me. My family can't send me the DS because the post doesn't like those sorts of things.

I think i saw it on a website it was a random comment on a post and i googled the term 'flashcard' and then i found some sites who gave info about them.

I came about to flashcarts etc when I was 8 lol. I just found my way into GBA emulators (since my first GBA broke) and then looked around for ROMS and there was always this GBA.net site that showed see through game cards with USBs(Thats what I used to call them) and learnt that gba roms can be played on GBA. After that I got GBASP just never bothered getting a flashcard since it was in america for like $50 or something. Then afterwards I got a DS lite and came across homebrew for the first time ever like SVSip and LMP-NG. Then I wondered how to do that and learnt from this site. Then I decided to finally buy a flash cart and by my mistake I got an R4 V2 for £30 lol. Around 3-4 months before V1.18 came out. Then after looking for homebrew apps I got directed to here by google

i found scene releases of gbc roms, then i found subport.org (now defunct), which described multiple flash carts
then i bought a gbc linker
when the gba came out, i waited for a flash solution to appear and then got that.
now i have a r4

Considering the fact that im 13, i dont make any money what so ever. And once the DS came out i was instantly addicted to it, MARIO KART! x]. But i couldn't afford any games, and my parents are asian which means they are overly strict and caring (based on everyone that lives in my area, asians being strict isnt a sterotype xD)....so ya i googled "Download DS games for free" and came up with the R4 xD... And i found GBAtemp because i needed a translation for SomaBringer.
