I have a PS3 Slim with Rebug CFW and Webman (its the same one in my signature). It sits on a shelf in a TV table, with plenty of airflow. However, the fan speed is always slowly increasing. After 10 minutes it sounds like a hairdryer - in less than half an hour it sounds like a jet engine. I tried disabling Webman so it wouldn't change the fan speed, but it's still the same. So I know for sure it's just my PS3 getting hotter. When I switch it on, the CPU/RSX is at around 40 degrees Celsius, and when I'm done playing its around 65.
So with that said, is there a way to get the system down to below 45 degrees, and make it stay at that temperature? I recently applied new thermal paste but that doesn't seem to have much effect. I'm thinking of installing a new fan/heatsink, but I don't know which one would work on a ps3 slim. The main problem is that it quickly becomes too noisy to play on after my parents have gone to bed, and I'm afraid my PS3 is getting too hot and might become damaged.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
