Hacking how can I know the cech number model before unboxing?

Hello to you all. I found a brand new ps3 slim 160gb (not super slim) now I know that there are two different types of cech numbers for this specific model. If its cech-2504a it come with firmware 3.50 with can be hacked. But if its cech-3004a it comes with firmware above 3.55. And I couldn't sell it for a good price so i can buy a wii u. My question is can I know the cech number right from the box?

You probably can't see the datacode, but my old 2001 had it printed right on the box. Next to the handle.

I see. thanks. I probably just ask the people from the store. If they don't know I still going to buy it. If it's above 3.55 I'm gonna return it. I have two weeks to return it.

As far as I know, all PS3 boxes have the CECH code on the top of the box next to one of the handles, as gunner said. Even my Super Slim had it.
