Love the console, but that damn hinge...

It was awful, until Nintendo replaced it for free, out of warranty. Then it was just fine, as long as I took care of it and didn't abuse it.

I never had any trouble with it, my brother on the other hand carried his ds by the top screen and after a few months it ripped off

It's not bad, just don't drop it.

Owned it since launch, and the hinge never had a problem. Of course it rode in my purse with a cover.

The only problems I had were the damn L/R triggers sticking. Frustrating as all get out.

Had 2 DS Lites, the hinges died within months.

never had a problem with my DS lit hinge i find mine to be very sturdy and tight , i can position it at any angle i want it and it just stays
the 3ds on the other hand is horrible
my original launch day ambassador cosmo black 3ds hinge sucks and has sucked since day one
i can never position it to the angle i want it just clicks down into the fully open position every time , very lose and very wobbly

The hinges are terrible. My first DS Lite lasted me three years, until the hinges cracked, and I dropped it, which split the console in half. ._. If you're gonna have a DS Lite, just be careful with it, and don't open/close it too violently.

i have a second hand ds lite, got it about a year before getting the 3ds the hinge is much better than my o3ds xl..
i think i was lucky
