It's very likely that the Switch 2 is still going to use HorizonOS, but here's a question I've been wondering about for a while - when HorizonOS 20 releases with Switch 2 support, what is it going to bring? Just the support for Joy-Con 2 + the new hardware or some other features too?

Chances are the OS is likely going to be on 2 branches now one for Switch 1 the other for Switch 2. However with how amazing Nintendo has been with security on a software level I expect nothing but the basics when it comes to firmware updates. Honestly best addition Horizon ever got was groups.

Imo the "groups" update was probably the most half-assed one Nintendo has done, it's essentially folders that are ONLY visible while in a submenu within a submenu that you can only access once you pass a specific number of games.

Compare this to 3DS and Wii U folders which were actually on the home screen.

I actually prefer the groups system as I can have duplicates for organization. I like to categorize apps in many ways and I always had the problem of some apps fitting in multiple groups. With this system I can actually do that. Though I will admit it not being viewable from the main Switch home screen is a massive flaw. Literally just fix that and the entire system is amazing.
