Homebrew Homebrew Questions- Error code 005-5958

Idk if this is a Homebrew Question or Hacking Question.

I bought recently a pre- homebrewed 3DS. Most of the games and apps function as normal except the pokemon bank. The error code is 005-5958 and I dont have a pc that can help me fix or correct the issue. I think its a region issue from what i have read but I am very very very new to all of this so i may need a more in depth step by step considering I have no idea how any of this works and doing one step at a time.

If anyone is able/ willing to help it would be very much appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read and hopfully write back. If needed i do have a discord as well for step by step as needed. Thank you

You might need to import the seed for the game to function make sure your 3ds is hooked up to wifi then load FBI go to titles (i think) choose pokemon bank and then choose import seed. And CFW is region free by the way and if you dont have FBI then you can download it from universal updater if you have it.

Do you get that error when starting Pokemon Bank, or does it only show up when Pokemon Bank tries to connect? If it tries to connect, does it indicate that it is using an NNID? Are you able to connect to the eShop at all?

Are you using your own NNID? If you bought this "pre-homebrewed" then it is entirely possible the person who sold it to you did something to the NNID before you got it.

When it attempts to connect, and i am using my own NNID, I can not connect to eShop at all same error code applies

CFW?

I attempted to import seed on the application and it said "Import Seed Failed' Error code is 0xd963F99C

These statements appear to be contradictory. Regardless, if the same problem is happening with eShop, then there's not much point in looking for problems with Pokemon Bank.

You are probably correct that this is a region issue. Unfortunately there's nothing you can really do about that. A 3DS can only use an NNID that corresponds to its original region, even if you use CFW* to install firmware from a different region. I think I've read something in the past about doing a "SOAP Transfer" to work around the problem, but it's been a while since I've read about it – it's pretty complicated and I think you still need another 3DS from the appropriate region involved.

*"Custom firmware", usually boot9strap+Luma.
