( why would you update before reading what the update actually does? , IF it bricks the console (which would be REALLY stupid by nintendo) or blocks it.. why not just uninstall it then before you update..? also.. why would you update?.. if it isn't some super awesome killing feature.. )

I don't think anyone is as stupid as you, so that's why probably no one has done it.

Even if an update blocks it, you always have the possibility to refuse the update, and wait till the hackers found a solution.

Like I said before, Nintendo doesn't have the right to update your console without asking your permission, so you are safe.
If it asks you to update, just say No if you don't want to, nothing can happen then.

you can leave the channel installed until nintendo brings a new update.

before you make such a update use google or an other site to inform you about the changes. wiibrew.org or this board

is a good place for such things. so you are on the save side, and hbc can remain installed.

Actually nintendo can update you system if you have 3.4:
"We may without notifying you, download updates, patches, upgrades and similar software to your Wii Console and may disable unauthorized or illegal software placed on your Wii Console to ensure that your Wii Console is operating properly and efficiently, comply with applicable laws, assist law enforcement, protect us and our customers, or prevent the use and distribution of software obtained through improper channels."

It's their new Privacy Policy that's updated in 3.4

dude, are you nuts. most updates are for "security" reasons and those "hurdles" will be jumped anyway. most people on this site are still on 3.2. there is NO reason to update. also, you can always deny the update. will somebody kill this thread please. give this dead horse one last good kick.
