If people actually cared and put in some time, it would get done in a matter of weeks.

"weeks" is a little optimistic. If caring meant faster hacks then the PS3 would be able to play backups by now.

I hasn't been hacked because it's basically abandoned. The only people that are well known trying to hack it right now is Geohot and the person above, in my link.

Besides there are other factors, like 25 GB downloads, and prosecution by Sony.

Download size isn't a problem since you can get every single Bluray release online. Also, Nintendo loves suing and shutting down people/sites that sell flashcarts.
