Gaming HMDS: Cute

I'm not sure if this goes here or not, but I was wondering if anyone figured out if there was a way to bring back the Best Friends system in the English version of HMDS: Cute? I gather I could just play the Japanese version (and since I'm playing Welcome to the Wind Bazaar it wouldn't be too much trouble), but I guess it would be easier if I could just play the English version. Thank you for your time and patience.
