but you cannot use 16GB for a flashcard its to much the R4 can only go to 2GB the SDHC(something like that) can go to 4GB that is what me is told

If memory serves, you can use an 8 gb card on a CycloDS....

16GB works fine in an M3 Real - they are only class 2 at the moment but this causes no problems at all.

When they defined the SDHC standard they went only to 32GB. Higher capacities are perfectly possible, they just aren't standard.

It's just like how the original SD cards could only go up to 2GB, but yet we have a 4GB non SDHC card out there. It's not standard specs, but it's possible.

To answer your question: 16GB microsd cards are the biggest you can purchase as of now, but 32GB cards will most likely be out eventually since that's the biggest they'll get (at least with standard specs). And since they're SDHC cards they'll work fine in any flashcart that supports them.
