Hi everyone !
Finally creating an account here as there is a question I wanted to ask.
I have been scouring GBAtemp for as long as I can remember, probably since the beginning of the internet
I am highly interested in consoles in general, not so much in gaming itself. Something about yellowed plastics and mushy joysticks.
I modded many consoles over the years, HW or SW including handhelds as well. Basic stuff, mostly softmods or modchips as well as repairs.
Here is the list of the systems I have owned over the course of my life:
PCs from the DOS era to now
Atari 2600
SNES + UFO Super Drive (no idea where my brothers got that in the 90's)
Gameboy
GBA SP
DS Fat / DSi XL Unlaunch / R4i Gold 3DS RTS
New 3DS XL Luma3DS
N-Gage QD
Dreamcast
PSP CFW
PS1 Modchip
PS2 FAT/Slim
PS3 FAT/Slim Rebug
Xbox360 RGH2.0
Wii cIOS
WiiU Haxchi
I sadly parted with most of them, but my best memories are about fiddling with the systems rather than using them as they were initially meant to. The Atari and SNES went back to my brothers, and everything else is either stored in my home country in my parents attic or sold/gifted.
All I have at hand at the moment is the DSi XL, Wii (x3), WiiU and PS3, I mostly kept the local multiplayer friendly systems to play with the kids.
Right now my focus is mostly on the Wii for emulation and its backwards compatibility with the Gamecube. I love the fact it works well on both CRTs and LCD TVs with its component cable. I collect Gamecube controllers which I refurbish using Nintendo parts (mostly retrofitting T3 stickboxes from Nunchuks on wired controllers as this is all I can find, T1/T2s for Wavebirds) as well as the classic/pro controllers for both Wii and WiiU.
