what do i need to play downloaded nintendo ds games i just bought my son one and we are real new to it please help

You'd best buy a so-called Slot1 card like an R4 or a CycloDS. It's a card that looks the same as a DS cartridge. You have to put a MicroSD card in with the games you've downloaded and that's it basically. With these Slot 1 device you don't need to flash your DS or patch the games. It's so simple.

Seriously. All you need is:
1) an R4 card.
2) a Micro SD card
3) a card reader (which is included when you buy an R4)
4) ROMs

Thats it. Theres nothing to it but drag and drop. It is too simple for anyone new to it to be confused or to be at a lost. Also note that, requesting and providing of ROMs/ROM Sites and any other illegal hoo-ha is against the rules and you'll earn yourself a ban.
