I need help using JNUSTool to recover my Wii U menu because it is stuck on the loading screen after trying to install a theme.

What exaclty is your problem with JNUSTool? What error do you get?

If you don't have Java already installed, you need to install it, for Windows see here: https://www.java.com/download/ie_manual.jsp

You also need to add the common key to the config file of JNUS (open it with Notepad). You can extract the common key from your otp.bin using this Tool: https://github.com/GaryOderNichts/WiiUCommonKeyExtractor/releases/tag/v1

Then you need to use the command line for JNSU. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the JNUSTool, then hold Shift while doing a right click and then select "Open Command Prompt". In this command window you need to enter the right command for your consoles Region:

For a EUR Wii U it would be:
Code:
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 0005001010040200 -dlEncrypted
For USA:
Code:
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 0005001010040100 -dlEncrypted
And for JPN:
Code:
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 0005001010040000 -dlEncrypted

Which file should I open the command window with? The compressed zip or the file folder. Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to Wii U homebrew and I don't understand everything.

Did you open the command prompt in there folder where you have the jar?

Also don't I need a raspberry pi pico?
You need that for UDPIH. But you can also use a switch, if you have one

and also isnt that for console bricks
That's why you are here?

Now it says common key length is wrong.
Did you replace the whole line with the common key and have nothing else in that line?

You should extract that zip, go where you extracted it and open in that folder the command promt

My homebrew launcher works and so does vWii but not wii u menu. it won't load no matter what. Does it mean my Wii u is bricked?

I replaced [COMMONKEY] with my common key inside the brackets

do I put the tm_XXXXXX folder inside my homebrewed sd card or a new sd card. also does it have to be formatted to fat32?

Thank you so much for your help. You are amazing. Couldn't have done it without you! I'll update you on reddit if I have problems with Udpih!

This can be classifiedas a semi brick

you also need to remove the bracket

Of course, fat32 is the only FS the wii u can use on SD.

I thought that I read that you don't have the Tiramisu coldboot anymore, but apperently you didn't write that, so not sure why I thought that.

If you hold + on the Gamepad while turning on, it should give you an option to launch the Homebrew Launcher.
From there you can try to install another theme or restore the default theme.
You can also use it to launch NUSpli, to reinstall the System menu (it can also download it for you, so you don't need JNUS). But when you reinstall the System Menu, it will remove the Tiramisu Coldboot and with that our backdoor. So if that fails, you would need UDPIH.

can you tell me more about this? I have NUSspli as a wii u channel install of NUSspli in the homebrew launcher. Can I download both?

How did you install the theme? I would suggest you first try to restore the default theme before trying to reinstall the Menu, as that would remove the Tiramisu Coldboot

I tried to install a backup, but thememii said it works, but when I navigate to the wii u menu, it says on the infinite loading screen. Couldn't I just reinstall coldboot tiramisu?

Or is it because I deleted system updates?

Also do I download the NUSspli zip or the NUSspli DEBUG zip?

Code:
OPEN_FILE upid:[ 2] sts:[PERMISSION_ERROR] hnd:[0xffffffff] path:[/vol/content/Common/Package/Men2.pack] mode:[r] perm:[0x660] flag:[0x0] append:[0]
This is your problem, the permissions are wrong on this file.
How did yoi install the theme?
You can use FTPiiU Everywhere together with a FTP client to set the permissions to 777, which should fix the problem.

I tried to install the theme by using thememii and install the men.pack and men2.pack files. it would load and when I accidently deleted the rpx file in thememii, that's when the system semi-bricked.
