I saw the guide on the github and didn't understand anything. I want to be able to use my PowerA Wired Switch controller with my Wii U. Could someone walk me through the process to make one.

Do you still want help? I have edited an existing file using the guide instructions, so may be able to help.

ooLIAMoo's post on the hid-to-vpad.424127 thread (I can't include a link as I'm quite a new member) suggests a config file already exists - but is called Core(plus) Wired Controller, so that might be worth a try.

Do you have HID Test? You'll need that to work out what values to put into the config file. Let me know if you want further instructions.

Yeah that would be great. Now I also have an SF30 Pro and Don know how to use it.

The SF30 Pro is quite easy. You can start it up in different modes by holding Start+A, B, X or Y. IIRC Start+A lets it be detected automatically by HID to Vpad as a Dual Shock / PlayStation controller. I have had trouble with the Switch mode in HID to Vpad (buttons are assigned wrong / seem to be held down). Try different modes until one works.

To make your config file, you will need HID Test, which is linked to from page 5d [Adding new devices] of the wiki, and I think is also in the Homebrew App Store. And you might as well start by downloading a random config file from the repository (should be linked from the wiki) to use as a base - the Core(plus) one would do, as it uses the format of numbers you’ll see in HID-Test (and will hopefully already be all correct, as ooLIAMoo suggested).

Plug in your controller and open up HID Test. You will see a black screen with white text.

Make a note of what it says next to vid and pid and put them in instead of the numbers at the top of the config file you downloaded, if they don’t already match.

Now you need to press each button on the controller and look at the number that changes at the bottom of the screen. The bottom number that changes goes at the end of the corresponding line in the config file (VPAD_BUTTON_whatever = 0x[], 0x[]), after the comma and second 0x. The number in the row above (labelled Pos) goes after the first 0x.

Getting the d-pad and sticks sorted is a little bit more complicated, and I haven’t had to change them myself. The wiki explains it so I probably could make one if I needed to. Let me know how you get on, and whether you want me to break down those steps too.

Good luck : )

Hi i need help inverting the analog sticks

@emcintosh Hello, sorry to bother you, but do you have a clue about how to get the Magic S Pro dongle working on HIDtoVPAD? I did a thread a long time ago talking about what I tried, it is recognized by HIDTest, but it shows random values even when nothing in the paired controller is being pressed, here is the thread with more information if you can help me, thank you!:

Someone has made a config and put it on their Google Drive: https://gbatemp.net/threads/hid-to-vpad.424127/page-106#post-9007476.
