Why do you wan't to start a translation?
I already have a patch with most of the menus translated.I could provide a link if you want.

well to be honest i am new in rom hacking
also in hex editing if that is required, but i am planning if i can do it
a full translation

also, where are the things named tiled and crystaltile2 located ?
i downloaded tlp but only things i see is green

update:
i found crystaltile2
update:
i found tiled from a site named tiled and it was packed as a bin.zip
also the choice of src.zip
update:
i don't know how to use tiled src or bin since there is no executeable or a batch file any help ?

update:
problem solved.
i didn't had the JRE files up on the pc so i couldnt run em

If you extract the text, I'll translate it. The problem apparently is putting it back into the game.
And don't quick results. I've been playing the game since release day and there is a novels worth of text to wade through, not to mention in-fight triggered conversations too.

Kryss do you want me to revive this project once I am finished with Inazuma Eleven?

Not good at all at reverse engineering.By the way is it just me or are those characters 1-byte?
Doubt you messed around and did a VWF hack, it sure takes some time

.
Can't do much things without a debugger actually...

Character encoding changed to 1 byte.
Added a VWF.
Changed compression to huffman.
Wrote new text parsers for new compressions and encodings.

I recycled some code from SRWJ, so it was pretty quick.

I a-am really astounded now...Really hearing that you changed the character encoding to 1-byte blew my mind up.Not to mention what happened after I read the following lines...
Assembly, right?

A debugger won't magically allow you to do anything you want. You have to learn assembly, you have to learn how to use a debugger, and you also have to combine those things.
Start with something on a platform like SNES. Many debuggers, many tutorials.

ARM is not a good place to start with. It has a lot of features, like integrated shifts and conditional execution for every opcode, and may just be too much for a beginner. If you want to see how it looks, here's part of my SRWW VWF code: http://nopaste.org/p/aJdkwYBmd

Not to mention that NDS debugging in general isn't that great. And no$gba isn't easy to get at the moment, too

holy @_@
ok i think i back down for japanese games.
i gonna concentrate on us games with a dutch translation.
for those people who can't understand english and who are from the netherlands.
well i only want to do some text editing so where do i start with ?
any rom examples and does somebody got a translating guide ?

yes i have a hex editor
but i gonna look for something better in the gbatemp's guide list now
anyways thanks for helping me out

Update:
Holy Smoke!
i took a easy game named
From the Abyss
i already editted some parts but.
some things are outside the font.
is there a way to keep the text in the font with lengthening ?

Update:
i did some changes in the text files and i lengthened the font files so i can go up to 3 font lines (will be easy)
and my first things is already translated into dutch
Helen_FIX.txt
time to get some serious business
thanks for all the help
