Well, you are trying to compile it instead of using it.

You can use a prebuilt .nro perhaps?

DosBox is included on the Retroarch Libnx releases:

Yes - use the core in the retroarch libnx release.

Configure the games on a PC install of dosbox. Write a .bat file to mount disks (if necessary) and to launch the games (if launching the games .exe isnt sufficient). Then copy over the files to the switch. From withing retroarch, while having the dosbox core active, you can launch exes and bats.

L3+R3 to enter menu (after you've launched a game), where you can then reconfigure controls (f.e.).
