I'm a super noob at all of this, and silly me went into custom themes and I think I uninstalled menuhax. How do I get it back? When I go into browserhax, I get the purple-ish screen (with Rxtools/pasta, etc.) but when I enter the homebrew option on it, I get a red screen on the touch screen and it just freezes. Any help would be appreciated!

The purplish screen/boot menu you are referring to is probably ctrbootmanager.
If you're getting a red screen I'd suggest cleanly power cycling(turning on and then off properly) your 3ds unit before retrying, as these red screens have the tendency to keep chaining if you keep shutting down via a dirty power cycle.

If you properly installed ctrbootmanager (renamed smea's hbmenu boot.3dsx to boot_hb.3dsx) then you should be able to boot it with persistence through browserhax.

Once in you can reinstall menuhax/themehax.

Rename your old boot.3dsx to boot_hb.3dsx
The boot that's currently named "HBL8.3dsx"? Everything I did, I followed here:

I think I did install it correctly, and yeah, that's the boot menu I'm in when I go into browserhax.

Well if you want to be sure, you can regrab smea's boot.3dsx
Rename that to boot_hb.3dsx, slap it on your sd root and make sure it's referenced as such (by proper name and location) in your boot.cfg
If everything is linked there proper then you should be able to boot it.

i accidentally reput an old theme i had originally on my 3ds and now can't access the menuhax. is there any way to reinstall the menuhax?? the browserhax from smea i think its called i can't get it to launch on my 9.2 firmware. this is driving me nuts. please if ya can help. i'd be so happy.
