Hacking Help setting up new R4 Gold

I bought this cart off of a site recommended on ShopTemp, but I'm thinking it's a clone and not official. I have a DSi running 1.4U and a 3DS running 6.3.0-12U but I can't find any firmware that works with either of them. They both get to Loading and then both screens flash black and nothing happens.

Any advice?

I thought I did this first but I'm trying it again.

Edit: I installed the most recent kernel and tried booting it on my DSi but it still hangs at "Loading." I know I need to patch the cart for my 3DS first but I can't get it to load anything on either system.
