I need some help with my little situation...

Trying to CFW a friends 2DS and at the SafeA9LHInstaller stage realised the start and select buttons do not work at all... I can't progress forward so wanted to restore the nand backup so he can return the 2DS for a refund.

So... Downgraded to 2.1.0 using CTRTransfer. Can't install A9LH. Want to restore NAND.

Starting to panic as i'm trying to figure out a way to restore now... I would have never thought to check the select button actually works before starting the process..

What's so funny about that?

You do realize that you can change the "start_gm9.bin" to "y_gm9.bin" or something like that and just boot it using the assigned button, right?

Or does the key combo you have to put in when restoring the nand include start and/or select? (I really don't know tbh)

He doesn't actually have a9lh installed yet so he can't use payloads.

Oh yeah, true, just goes to show that i shouldn't think about stuff like that at 8am.

But if he managed to get it downgraded to 2.1 he should be able to restore the backup through GM9 too.
