Try it on Windows and set the folders up again, Mac OSX creates invisible index-files that can throw programs off :/

Wish our guide friend warned people about Macs man why??? I've spent hours XD and I think my unarchiver thing on Mac doesn't work as well as say 7zip or winrar when it comes to extracting!

Yeah Macs have little quirks unfortunately but does it work now? :o

Only a .3dsx and .smdh. The folder itself should be in the 3ds folder, but that in itself doesn't really matter. What matters is having the arm9.bin, arm11.bin and safea9lhinstaller.dat on the root on the SD Card.

Please just read the guide. It makes it all so clear where files should be.

Just have the files in right place and try again. The usage of a Mac itself shouldn't matter, I don't think. Make sure you have safea9lhinstaller.dat on the root of your SD card.

At any rate, don't put your 3DS in sleep mode.

My 3DS is off man I know sleep mode can cause it to brick and I'm still getting the same error... going to start fresh in Windows 10 tomorrow darn MacOS!!!

What I would do is delete all files you had for the install and try it all over again on Windows. Make sure you do EVERY STEP in the guide

Start from the beginning of installing arm9 part of the guide right? And when you say delete the files you mean any of the one's I downloaded and setup folders etc. on my Mac right?

just updated a9lh on my 3ds yesterday, used a mac to format a brand new 64gb card , and downloaded files on the mac, extracted on mac and all went fine..i think you may have a bad download ..anyways try on Windows tomorrow and let us know..

I agree; I don't think the Mac is the issue. He just hasn't put the files in the right places, that's all.

You are right. He has the .3dsx and the .smdh on the root of his sd card as well as in the folder. He might've made a mistake and accidently put the .dat in the safea9lhinstaller folder instead of on the root of the sd card just because of those other files with the same name. Regardless he should just do what you say and move the safea9lhinstaller.dat out of the folder and onto the root of the sd and hopefully thats it.
