Hi i need an opinion on what would be best for me to purchase for my Wii U. I have roughly about 900 gigs worth of content to install on my wii u (gc,wii, wii u). I know that wii u requires a usb drive to be formatted in order to use wii u games from it so would it be better for me to purchase a 1TB sd and load all games from there? Or should i purchase 2 separate usb drives and have 1 for wii u and the other for gc and wii games?

unless they're vc games, you have to have two drives. there's also the fact that you can only have 300 games on the home menu at one time. I think it's actually 292, because the default apps count towards that total.

Thats good to know about the limit of games to display. Just counted and i fortunately have 191 total. So 1 drive for wii u and second drive for gc and wii is what ill go for. I've heard not to use thumb drives for wii u but would it be ok for the gc and wii games?

You should buy hard drive instead of thumb drive.

no, it would likely have the same problem with that flash drive. you can use an sd card for wii and gc games though. I use an sd card for gc games personally. I think load times might be longer, but not by much.

I'd imagine the wiiu is capable up to 2TB on paper, but who knows how far it can go. I'm using a 256GB card, and I've heard 512 works as well. I've never encountered something that didn't work with a card that size. probably a good thing to get at least 128GBs to install wiiu games, because the biggest wiiu game is like 27GBs without patches or anything.
