Hacking Help! My r4 is dead!

Hi! I'm rarestg and I have a japanese or chinese r4. My system got busted so I need ALL the files that came with it. And please, do not give me links to kernels because they don't have EVERYTHING that came on my r4.

yeah but the r4 came with like, ds menu.dat and stuff, and it doesn't have it.

Ok... so I did that, and it shows three !!! and then something in chinese or japanese .

_DS_MENU.DAT is the kernel, and it's the only file you absolutely need. That and Moonshell are included in every release of the kernel.

You need a moonshell folder with like skin and plugins and stuff for moonshell to work. Same with DSO and other homebrew. But all you really need is the kernel.

The Kernel has EVERYTHING you need for your R4DS to run, so linking you to a kernel is the best thing to do.

Do you mean ALL the files like games and themes? Browse them with your PC, maybe you can salvage some.Since it is nearly impossible

P.S: Themes are not included, but moonshell is

i'v had my r4ds for a day now and i'v formated it then I put the kernel on it , now when i put it in the card in my ds i get the message (in chinees) error, now the tf card reads fine in my windows pc i'v formated it about 10 times and still get the same error message, i'v also put the 1.18 kernel on there by it's self and it still sows the same error.
and one know how to fix this ??

Your probaly trying to use an english kernel on a chinese R4 or vice versa........

Well my old R4 is dead.

Its NEVER getting detected anymore.... i even did put a TINY layer of solder to rebuild the "connection" spots that was grinded of by the DS...

All you really need is the web site for the R4DS Revolution.

If you can't find that with Google .... well I guess you wouldn't understand the site if you could find it either.

Hmm...You're going to need a kernel for whatever language your R4 supports if it doens't have multi-language support.

If you deleted the games, video, pics, roms, etc from your SD then you will just have to get them again. Or check your Recycle Bin on the PC.

you can use a patch for asian R4 to use with english menu, i don't remember now the link.... but if you want

Yah windows doesn't have it in recycling. Maybe Linux or something, but Windows doesn't, and I haven't tried any other OS's yet.

Windows tend to permanently delete (well, not permanently, as long as the adress where the file stored upon deletion is not overwritten, an undeleter can recover it) if you delete something from private folder of removable devices.
