Usually we can change the policy as how a USB unit is used, should it be a Quick Removal type (optimized for quick removal, as in, no need to "safely remove") or High Performance (you'll get better access and write speed at the cost of boring safely remove task) type? Can you change your PSP policy to Quick Removal type?
on vista that will only really help with ntfs-formatted storage media.
too much to explain, but trust the guy who had no scan messages since he switched his 16GB usb stick from FAT to NTFS.

You can get rid of that popup message in Vista by running a cmd prompt and using chkdsk with the /f switch.

Suppose it's drive e:

at the command prompt type

chkdsk e: /f

if it's a drive other than e:, use the appropriate letter.

You need to do this with each and every stick that's generating the error. And afterwards you should use the "safely remove this device" option to prevent the error from recurring.

There are two ways of safely remove the media (it happened to my Micro Sd cards for the SupercardDSOne). you can eject it (in MY PC select the icon of the media, right click and eject) or search for the hidden Icon in the taskbar
