Hacking Help identify this cart

Have been given this cart today, but don't know what make it is. When i put it in ds lite or dsi it comes up "ther is no card in the ds game slot".
Maybe this is because there no proper firmware on the card, but I don't know what to load on it.

Any help would be great.

i think it's an acekard, the back of mine looks the same, and i remember i saw a sticker of an acekard with a actel chip. dunno for sure, can someone confirm this?

Hello scrtmstr, I should of said that it came with a sticker which says "DSi compatible".

did you get a box with it that said acekard and the sticker on the front say acekard with the sticker off like that and the back not being an acekard it look just like my EDGE

No it didn't come with any box, just the cart and a DSi compatible sticker. I suspect it is an Acekard but don't know why it doen't show up in either dslite or dsi.

It doesn't look like either of the Acekard2is. I found this link to an Acekard2i review that show the front and back of both versions.

Unless it's a different HWID, I'm not aware of a seam like that on the back of any of the Acekard2is.

To check if it is an Acekard put AKAIO 1.5 on it and if it boots then you'll know. rofl.

Probably some knock off chip... I'm pretty sure AK2i has a bump. With this one you shouldn't notice too much of a bump. Of course I don't own this so I don't know.

Never mind then... Maybe the kernel wasn't updated so that it could run on 1.4, but that wouldn't make sense since TC said it didn't work on a DSLite either... Hmm...

ak looks nothin like that and the material and texture that card is mad eof doesnt look like any of the other dsi compatible flash cards
its most likely just a scam

if you are testing it with acekard firmware
then try the official firmware on your DSL

Might be an Acekard? My Ak2.1 doesent have a bump.

I remember some of the AK2.1s had a black PCB revision. Might be one of those?

actually is not important which flashcard is, if ds lite or dsi tell you that there is not flashcard inside your console then this flashcard is not working.
it can be a old acekard 2 or some r4 clone , if its broken just open it , try to press it and add some paper inside as some people suggested for bad contacts

Teeth protected contacts, Actel PROASIC 3 chip, and a somewhat specific msd slot. This is definitely EDGE or maybe Cyclo DS if it exists in black. This cannot be an Acekard 2, it doesn't have a msd slot like this and it doesn't have full teeth either.

Firstly thanks everyone for the replies!

Can I just clarify, regardless of which card it is should it still show up when inserted into a dslite? Or does it need to have the relevant os software on the memory card to show up?

Even if it doesn't have firmware on the microSD card it should still be read by the DS. Now if the cart was completely unflashed then it wouldn't even be detected by the DS.
