So, I have Nintendont working already. Cheats are working perfectly on Nintendont, and I assume my USB Gecko will work with the debugger option set to Yes on Nintendont. That is, whenever I get it in the mail, anyways. However, I'm wanting to debug my Gamecube games while the Wii system is in Gamecube mode so the addresses will be accurate for the Gamecube instead of just working for the game in Wii Mode. As far as I know, Nintendont works exclusively in Wii Mode.

Given that, to do what I need to do, I'd need something like Gecko OS Mod or Neogamma. I decided to go with Gecko OS Mod because I used it whenever I had another Wii at one time. I was following two tutorials to get this set up, but both have failed. By failing, I mean the game boots to a black screen after it says "Hook patched." Even trying with NeoGamma after following these and installing a cMIOS it always says "Hook wasn't patched", then boots to black. Here are the tutorial links I used:

https://www.vggts.gdn/where/wiird/gamecube_codes_with_geckoos1.htm

Doing what the tutorial says with the files provided, whether it be that I installed MIOS into IOS236 or into IOS249, Gecko OS Mod still fails. It always says "Hook patched" and then it hangs.

If someone can give me the necessary files to get this working, I'll install them and see if it works. If it doesn't work from there, I'll provide another SysCheck.

A version of IOS249 was installed from another tutorial I don't remember, as I hacked my Wii three years ago. It was installed via d2x. Here is a SysCheck of my console, without IOS236 and with d2x IOS249:

You don't have a cmios installed according to your syscheck. You can get this in WAD form from modmii classic's download page 4 iirc (or use a cmios installer). Note that recommended cios's don't include cmios in modmii by default, unless you enable the appropriate setting in the options first

I did install a cMIOS previously according to the tutorials I used above, but it still didn't work, even with a cMIOS. The current SysCheck is after I restored my NAND from uninstalling the stuff from the tutorials. I used Waninkoko's cMIOS installer and I used WiiGator's, and neither worked, so I just restored my previous NAND.

From my current cIOS installations, could you give me a list of steps and downloads so I could get this on track? Thank you. I have a Black Wii with Gamecube Ports if that'd make any difference. I'm using retail discs, by the way.

EDIT: Here is a SysCheck with WiiGator's loader installed. Gecko OS Mod (v0.91) and NeoGamma (latest version) still fail to work. This is NOT what's on my current NAND. The result in the OP is my current NAND.

Why don't you try neogamma? Sorry, this is an edge case kind of issue so I'm not sure if I'll be much more help
Have tried it. It failed as well, even with everything installed. NeoGamma always says the Hook wasn't patched in the GC Loader part of it loading, and then it boots to a black screen. I've been using the VI Hooktype both times around. DIOS MIOS v2.11 also failed as well.

It's actually explained here
https://modmii.github.io/usage.html

After it's added to the download queue, enter D, then Y to download

Edit: if anyone wants to develop a proper how to for this (or anything) I can add it to the official usage page

Edit: sorry I posted this in the wrong thread

From your tool I downloaded four different things. I downloaded RVL-mios-v10.wad (I assume it's the default MIOS), RVL-cMIOS-v65535(v10)_WiiGator_WiiPower_v0.2.wad, RVL-cmios-v4_WiiGator_GCBL_v0.2.wad, and RVL-cmios-v4_Waninkoko_rev5.wad from the tool. I feel like I've used installers for these cMIOS's before and they failed, so I don't have much hope here.

My Wii is a newer Wii (Black, but has Gamecube Controller Ports and Memory Card Ports), so I think that might be why the cMIOSs aren't working. I'm not trying to load backups, I'm just trying to patch a VI Hooktype to a retail disk in order to hack Gamecube games with my USB Gecko in Gamecube Mode. But, I have a feeling that won't even work properly.

What should I do from here, given that I have these files? Remember, due to reflashing my NAND, I only have cIOS 249 and cIOS 250. My NAND matches the OP, currently. Do I need to download cIOS 236 as well? If so, where do I get that from in your application?

I ended up getting an older White Wii in order to fix the problem, but I'm still having issues. After installing cIOS 236, 249, 250, 251, and WiiGator's MIOSv10, I am able to play Gamecube games that are burned on discs by using NeoGamma to load the discs, but turning on cheats in NeoGamma on any game leads to a crash. Nintendont works fine and so do USB Loaders loading codes, but neither Gecko OS (for Wii Games) or Gecko OS Mod/NeoGamma (for Gamecube Games) are working.

I'm starting to assume I don't have the proper files downloaded. Is there anything I need downloaded other than NeoGamma, the cIOSs and MIOS, and a GCT file made by Ocarina Code Manager in order to get my cheats to work? Like Sneek, for instance (I have sneek and kenobiwii and kenobigc downloaded, but that doesn't help anything). Keep in mind I've already used every hooktype, just for all to fail.

I am also using an SDHC Card (4GB), so I don't know if the fact that the card is SDHC would interfere with anything instead of being a 2GB SD Card.

You shouldn't need anything else to my knowledge; though you could try using accio hacks to build the gct files instead and see if that makes a difference

on another note... can't nintendont launch titles saved on a backup disc? Perhaps try this with cheats saved to SD

I can tell you that Nintendont works 100%, with cheats for retail discs and backup discs. I'm wanting to use another loader like NeoGamma or Geck OS Mod because they launch games in Gamecube Mode while Nintendont launches games in Wii Mode. I wanted to use a USB Gecko to debug the games. I know USB Gecko can work in Nintendont, but this says the addresses may be shifted under Wii Mode: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/

gotcha... give acciohacks a try, but I'm not confident it will solve your issue
Figured out how to fix this thanks to Stars. Using the Master Codes for the games I was trying to debug allowed for me to properly use codes for the games and debug them. I can't believe the solution to this problem was so simple...
