Hello everyone,
I am, obviously, new here but I am glad I joined.
I don't know what to write here really.... sorry that this might seem a little bland.
If you want to know anything about me or my hobbies or what interests me,
Please just ask or message me, assuming this forums have a message system.

Thanks for reading,
Hope to make good friends here

Yosh and welcome to the temp, be sure to check the rules and blablabla (the usual stuff). xP
The forum does have a messaging system, but it'd be easier if you posted more info about you on the post or do it in your profile "About me" section...
Anyways, nice to meet ya and I hope you have fun, others will prolly incline you into visiting the EoF, but don't listen to them for they are the voice of Satan, if you value your sanity and morals, do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, visit the EoF under any circumstances... You have been warned. =3

Although you could always go there and join the Temp Perverts, we're currently in need of more members.

I see you have a blogs section, yet this is a gaming forum,
I am asking now so I don't get abused (or trolled) about making a blog about non-game things.
Is that allowed? (Non-Game related blogs that is)

It's your blog, put what you want in it. Definitely doesn't need to be gaming related.

Yeah, it is allowed, actually, although this is a gamming forum, most of the blogs are about real life or random stuff... And in the EoF, General Off-Topic, Art, Music and others, most of the things aren't about games but other stuff in general.. Despiste this being mainly and foremost a gamming community, it doesn't limit itself to gamming alone. =3
TV shows, books, anime, all of that is discussed in here.

Edit: Hell's beat me to it.

welcome. there aren't much trolls around here.
HERP DERP I'M RETARDED.
Show some restraint on the amount of images/videos you post. Posts or topics with many images are a strain on dial-up users, so please be courteous.
Actually un-played YouTube embeds use up less than 100 KB. Thats less total KB of your Avatar+Sig should be according to your rules. And posting multiple times on one page just multiplies that number. Unplayed Youtube Embeds use up a very small amount of information (as most flash engines often do). The big-chunk of Youtube embeds that take up the most information are the generated image previews.

Now... if you happen to press Play, the video will begin to load. Dial-up user or not, that's the VIEWER's consent. It is totally their choice to load up a 5, 10, 50, 100 MB video by pressing the play button. Looking over the data usage of un-played embeds, and focusing directly on my video posting habbits, my videos are usually almost all the time, under 10 seconds. The Dr. Spaceman clip in particular, is just a teeny bit over 200KB for default 360p. Of course... Youtube also auto-detects a person's bandwidth if their connection are slow, and will load 240p, which is even less. So if a dial-up user only loads less than 100KB for the embed, and if they intentionally play the video, its only a measly 200KB video load.

That said, you can just shove your dial-up excuse somewhere else. You can also shove any "mobile" excuses, as phones that are capable of loading flash in-browser are often 3G or 4G phones that at the very bare minimum get atleast 4x better than dial-up speeds, and usually no less than 1/3rd of DSL speeds.

Also... like I really care for the thoughts or feelings of dial-up users even if I was posting high quality 2-5MB images, or like I really care about your thoughts and feelings about their thoughts and feelings. I have no intention of being courteous, but regardless of how annoying you think videos are, using dial-up users as an excuse just doesn't really count for anything when un-played embeds take-up so little. Here's a fun fact... If I take a screenie of any one youtube embed and crop out the embed and save it as a BMP or PNG through MSPaint, that image will take up more space than a Youtube embed.

I actually gotten into this argument quite a few times with Gaia admins about Youtube embed size in signatures to the point where they just gave up and just used the "because I said so argument" because their "100kb, 500x500pixel" signature rules couldn't be applied to Youtube embeds that just idly set there.

Anyways. Your/their choice to play it.
