If it doesn't support cheats why is there a cht folder?

gPSP supported cheats, but the -J version doesn't.

It's emulation is far better, though. It's worth it to just use GBAATM to make trainers for your games instead.

Someone needs to track down this Japanese coder and talk him into adding cheat support.

I don't like the idea of using that program to permanently patch cheats into my games. Kinda messed up a FE7 rom when I did it.

Simply check the "menu" option.
Then when the game starts you get a menu letting you choose which ones are on and which ones are off.

There's a glitch for the forums at the moment where unless you have a quote, link (like a URL), or spoiler in your post, it won't show up.

So add one of those to every post and you'll be set.
